A Beautiful Front Lawn Wedding in Franklin, West Virginia

This lovely front lawn wedding in Franklin, West Virginia was perfect for bride, Tasha, and groom, Isaac.

Tasha Marie Thompson & George Isaac Sponaugle III | 9.28.19 | Franklin

Before the front lawn wedding in Franklin, West Virginia, Isaac didn’t have to go far to find his treasure. In the fall of 2018, he reconnected with Tasha at the annual Treasure Mountain Festival in his hometown of Franklin. Home is where the heart is and, eight months later, Isaac proposed at their home on the porch swing over a glass of wine.

Over the next four months, the bride planned a sentimental wedding full of southern charm. The ceremony took place on the wraparound porch of the couple’s home, a home that had once belonged to Isaac’s great-great-grandfather. Guests were seated on the front lawn beneath the shade of a cherry tree, and Tasha, escorted by her father, turned heads in her simple but elegant long-sleeved, ivory-colored gown secured down the back with satin buttons. Isaac wore a custom steel blue suit.

The couple exchanged traditional vows and were married by Pastor Bill Hartsfield. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds joined their guests beneath a white tent on the side lawn for cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres. Antique white ironstone vases filled with ivory-colored, white, and sage green hydrangeas adorned the tables, where guests dined on beef brisket, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, salad, and homemade dinner rolls and butter. For dessert, they had homemade pies in a variety of flavors and coffee from the specialty coffee bar.

Isaac’s father made a custom raised dance floor, where the couple and their friends and family two-stepped the night away to live entertainment provided by Johnny Cash’s eldest grandson, Thomas Gabriel.

The day after the wedding, the couple left for their honeymoon in Savannah, Georgia, where they relaxed poolside and enjoyed the historical downtown. They returned home to Franklin, where Isaac is an attorney at Sponaugle & Sponaugle Law and a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates; Tasha plans to work in real estate with her mother-in-law.
