A Stately Summer Ceremony in Union, West Virginia

It was seven years ago at Camp CJ when Sarah and Ashton first met. They were at the camp’s dance, dancing with different partners, when Ashton knew he just had to do something. Some clever thinking by Ashton’s sister and Sarah’s friend Tierra brought the two together in what would be the first of many dances. Five years later, the couple was ready to be married—they knew they had found “the one.” After a long and slightly difficult journey through Sandstone Falls in search of the perfect spot, Ashton said, “Let’s do this!” and dropped to one knee. Sarah couldn’t help but scream “yes!” They took a moment to pray over their marriage and life to come before celebrating their newest milestone.

Sarah had always imagined marrying Ashton at Elmwood Estate, and she did just that. The couple stood on the stately front porch of the property in the early afternoon, Sarah in an illusion-neck ball gown with floral tattoo lace detailing and a cathedral veil and Ashton in a navy blue suit with mauve accents and a watch gifted to him by his bride. After saying “I do,” Sarah and Ashton turned to greet their friends and family as husband and wife, pausing to take in the view of their loved ones backdropped by the always stunning West Virginia mountains, thankful for the moment. The reception was one big family reunion as guests enjoyed pork barbeque and home-cooked sides. Guests were served from a four-tiered cake topped with fresh flowers, boasting a little something for every taste with unique flavors in each tier. Everyone spent the evening dancing, playing lawn games, and coming together in fellowship, connected by their mutual love for the bride and groom. The newlyweds took some time to themselves on Mackinac Island, coming home to Ronceverte finally united in marriage.
