Dancing Into Happily Ever After

Abigail, from Ivydale, and Bailey, a native of Clay, met through mutual friends in the fall of 2020. Almost a year later, the two were on a Hawaiian vacation with Abigail’s family and best friend. They were taking a walk along the beach, enjoying the tropical air, when her friend suggested taking some photos. Abigail agreed and handed her phone over.

As she turned around to pose with her partner, Bailey was already down on one knee with a very important question to ask—and the camera snapped away in the background. When the big day rolled around the following spring, love and joy descended on J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works. Bailey was brought to tears as he watched his heart walk down the aisle. Abigail wore an off-white, A-line gown with long sleeves and intricate lace details. Color was abundant, including in Abigail’s hot pink heels and her vibrant bouquet. Nestled amongst those striking flowers was a small butterfly, placed in honor of her late sister so she could be by the bride’s side.

The ceremony showcased the couple’s love of fun and laughter with joking deliberation, with bridesmaids and groomsmen at the “I do’s” and a signature handshake to seal the deal. When the party got started, everyone was quick to kick back and relax. Formally dressed attendees changed for the reception—gone were the suits and long dresses. Guests enjoyed a full taco bar spread and munched on the snack and dessert table’s options. The newlyweds cut into a hexagonal cake decorated with brilliantly bright edible wildflowers. Dancing went on late into the night, the live band keeping people on their feet. The newlyweds honeymooned with a tropical cruise and a weekend at Disney World. Now, they can be found in Wallback, working as a dental assistant and a communications lineman.
