Davis Proved the Perfect Backdrop for this West Virginia Wedding

Monica and Sean were at a performance of their favorite cover band, The Soul Miners, when Sean asked Monica to dance. Years later, they were taking a trip to Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida, a place with many personal memories for the couple. As they walked along the sand, Sean dropped quickly down to one knee and asked Monica to marry him.

The sun shone down on their wedding at Pendleton Point, casting a warm light over the ceremony. In a tribute to Sean’s father, “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton was played as Monica and her father walked down the aisle. Monica’s dress was a mermaid silhouette with fitted bodice and open back, designed with floral lace appliqués, an illusion neckline, and cap sleeves. Sean was dressed in a simple black suit and carried his canine best friend with him—the pup’s face was printed on a special pair of socks. During the ceremony, the couple placed a bottle of wine, letters to each other for their 10th wedding anniversary, and words of advice from their parents into a wooden box to be opened on future anniversaries.

The reception was spent under the stars with dancing and mingling. The whole day was streamed on Zoom for those who could not attend, and the bride’s and groom’s ability to interact with them made the evening that much more special. The newlyweds cut into a small white cake while guests enjoyed vanilla and chocolate cupcakes covered in white buttercream. Monica and Sean are planning to travel to see the northern lights. The bride and groom recently moved to Denver, Colorado where she works in online education as the Associate Director of Retention Management and he works for a therapy clinic as the Systems and Operations Director.
