Love Blossoms On A Sunset Cruise

Makayla, a Logan native, was introduced to Zach, from Winfield, through her childhood best friend, who had gotten to know Zach while living in the same dormitory. Their love quickly blossomed, and they were engaged a few months later while on a sunset catamaran cruise in Destin, Florida, an experience the bride describes as “the most beautiful and perfect moment.” After a long year of planning and some rainy worries, Makayla walked down the aisle with her father in an off-the-shoulder Martina Liana gown with floral lace appliqués. Zach met her in a classic black tuxedo that matched his groomsmen.

The bridesmaids sparkled in champagne gold gowns, each unique to her personal style. This moment—the first look—quickly became the couple’s favorite. Beautifully simplistic florals in white surrounded by rich greenery paired well with golden accents and complemented the aesthetics of the elegant outdoor ceremony. After becoming husband and wife, it was time to celebrate. The newlyweds enjoyed their first dance to Calum Scott’s “Biblical” before they encouraged Zach’s parents to take the floor in celebration of their own marriage, which they were celebrating the anniversary of that very day. Rather than prepare favors, the couple planned multiple experiences for guests to enjoy throughout the night, such as cornhole, a coffee bar, a cigar area, a traditional bar, and a dessert table filled with donuts, cheesecakes, cookies, and brownies.

Their three-tiered wedding cake was a shining star, each tier boasting a unique and tasty flavor to be enjoyed. After a long night of dancing and celebrating, the couple embarked on an international honeymoon to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Greece and Italy. Makayla and Zach have since settled back into day-to-day life in Teays Valley, returning to work as a dentist and a physician’s assistant respectively.
