Rainy Day Proposal

It was a rainy, wet day in Davis when Grant proposed. He and Jessi were determined to hike to the top of Seneca Rocks and the downpour wasn’t going to stop them, so they and their less-than-enthusiastic pup took off to the top of the mountain. The trail was peaceful, just the three of them. When they made it to their destination, Jessi turned to take in the view—but Grant had other plans in mind, and dropped to his knee in the pouring rain to propose. Their wedding took place two years later on a bright and sunny day.

Jessi shined in a boho-inspired gown with lace detailing, an added belt and headband bringing a touch of sparkle. The florals were  particularly special—vibrant summer arrangements of peonies, orchids, hypericum, garden roses, snap dragons, safari sunset, and Italian ruscus coordinated by Grant’s family’s flower shop. The clear blue sky extended infinitely above as the couple exchanged vows and participated in a love lock unity ceremony representing the foundation and strength of their relationship.

At the reception, guests enjoyed a dinner of skillet-braised chicken and roast beef and sides, then satisfied their sweet tooth with an assortment of cupcakes while the bride and groom cut into a single-tiered personal cake. As the evening’s festivities drew to a close, a sparkler exit sent the newlyweds off to the Bahamas. After returning to Charleston from their latest adventure, they settled into married life with their two dogs, Chief and Charli.
