Allison Pack believes that her life has been beautifully punctuated by weather. When she was born, it was raining, when she got engaged it was snowing, and when she took her vows it once again was raining.

Allison and Hunter, the groom, had gone out to her father’s farm, where there was a snowstorm. They spent the day sleigh riding and enjoying the surroundings when he got down on one knee on a mountainside and proposed as snow was falling.

The couple, who live in Beckley, chose a bohemian theme for their wedding, which was held at Pipestem State Park. Her six bridesmaids wore a combination of pink, maeve, and taupe. The groom and six groomsmen wore stone khaki pants, white shirts, and bow ties that matched the colors of the wedding.

Her father escorted her down the aisle, as a harpist played. On Pipestem’s Cardinal Deck, with it slightly raining, the couple exchanged traditional vows and their preacher read bible verses. The fog and sunset made for an ambiance of misty magic.

The reception was held in the ballroom which was decorated in the bohemian theme, with pinks, mauves, and pompous grass. They danced their first dance to “Joy of My Life” by Chris Stapleton.

Guests enjoyed a buffet of ham, salmon, carved roast beef, and a two-tiered red velvet cake and cupcakes.

The couple also had a lady painting their picture at the reception which was given to them as a gift. Cameras were placed on the tables for people to take Polaroids of each other and put in the guestbook where well wishes were signed.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica, then returned to Beckley where the groom is in the Air Force and the bride is a student of cosmetology.
