Are you a guest for an upcoming 2021 wedding? Here are five mistakes a wedding guest should never make and must avoid at all costs.
wedding guest no-no’s
It is that time of the year! Engagement season—and that means lots of weddings. As the invitations begin to roll in, freshen up your wedding guest etiquette. You may mean well, but you don’t want to make these five wedding guest mistakes.
1. Turn off your phone
You don’t want to be that person whose phone rings in the middle of I-dos.
2. Don’t take phone pictures at the ceremony
None. Never. Major no-no. Brides pay big bucks to have photographers document their weddings. The last things they want are photos of phones raised above heads during ceremonies.
3. Don’t post photos of the couple on social media before the couple has a chance
Unless, of course, they provide you with a specific hashtag and give you the go-ahead.
4. Don’t assume kids are welcome
In fact, it is better to assume they are not invited unless you are explicitly told.
5. Don’t assume you are allowed to bring a guest
If the invitation is addressed to you alone and you aren’t sure if you’ve been given a plus one, check in with the couple. Usually the invitation will specify the number of guests allowed per invitation.
