Kate, a Henderson native, and Jordan, from Gallipolis Ferry, met in high school 10 years ago. They knew each other from a shared Spanish class, but it took running into each other at a local restaurant years later to turn their relationship into something more.
They quickly grew close and weathered the long distance of college years. In 2022, the couple were enjoying a cookout with friends and family, watching as fireworks lit up the sky, when Jordan popped the question.
They planned for a September wedding in the following year, and found the perfect place to host it: Years previously, a close friend of Kate’s father had lived on the land that would later become the Historic Woodlawn Estate.
On the day, Kate was escorted by her father as “I Choose You” by Amanda Jordan was sung by a dear friend, adding an even more personal touch to the emotional moment. The couple promised each other forever, and the celebration kicked off soon after.
Guests snacked on charcuterie boards made by the bride’s family before sitting down to dinner—the newlyweds at a table handmade by the groom’s grandfather. For dessert, Kate and Jordan cut into a three-tiered cake embellished with roses and greenery with additional options of cheesecake, macarons, cake pops, and cookies.
Once everyone had their fill, they took to the dance floor, illuminating the night with light-up beach balls, wands, and glasses. Guests took photos in the photo booth and laughed as they danced, celebrating the love of the bride and groom.
As the night came to a close, Kate and Jordan were bid farewell by guests with fiber optic wands and bubbles and a cacophony of fireworks and well wishes. The pair honeymooned in Montego Bay before returning home to Henderson, where they work in the medical field.
