Game On Forever—Two Athletes Find Their Perfect Match

School pride and hectic athletic schedules helped bring these two D1 athletes together. Keatan, a volleyball player from Charleston, and Joe, a wrestler from Waterford, Pennsylvania, met at West Virginia University in the fall of 2018. Postgraduation found the two on a sun-soaked trip to Santorini, Greece, when Joe popped the question.

Sunshine graced them again on their wedding day, the morning dawning bright and clear at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown. Keatan and her father were preceded down the aisle by her grandmother and great-aunt—the perfect flower girls for the occasion. The ceremony was short and sweet but full of love.

Keatan shimmered in a white fit-and-flare gown covered in sparkles with heels to match. Joe, wearing a gray suit with lilac accents, was so caught up in the joy and emotion of their union that he leaned in for the first kiss a bit too early, evoking sweet laughter from friends and family. Signature drinks, a spicy margarita and 1792 whiskey, welcomed guests to the reception and kept the dance floor full well into the night. But first, Keatan and Joe swayed to Brad Paisley’s “We Danced,” enjoying the chance to be held in each other’s arms before the lively chaos of the evening began.

While cake was on the dessert menu—a floral covered raspberry wonder—guests also enjoyed an impressive spread of cookies and doughnuts. One of the most memorable moments came when the newlyweds were lifted up in chairs while everyone danced joyfully around them in jubilant celebration. The fun carried on well into the night as guests gathered at the hotel bar with plenty of love and laughter. After jetting off to Punta Cana for their tropical honeymoon, the duo came back home to Morgantown, where Keatan works as an architectural designer and Joe as a civil engineer.
