Levi Messner and Bre Boswell lived on opposite sides of the West Virginia–Kentucky border, meeting for the first time in Virginia while leading a Young Life camp trip at Rockbridge Alum Springs. Six months later, the two were at Snowshoe on Christmas Eve. They skied most of the day, the ring safely hidden away until the perfect moment. That moment came as they stood in front of the mountain’s lavishly decorated Christmas tree, and Bre happily said “Yes!”

The couple tied the knot in a beautiful spring ceremony. Standing at the altar, Levi and Bre looked perfectly paired—him in a cobalt blue suit and floral tie and her in a white ruffled gown accessorised with Tecovas boots, a veil from Anthropologie, and a hand-picked bouquet of locally grown flowers.

Eighteen bridesmaids and groomsmen stood with them as they prepared to say “I do,” but when it came time to exchange vows, Levi had a surprise: He’d written a song for Bre instead, performing it for his bride to the delight of misty-eyed attendees.

After a caffeine-filled cocktail hour, guests sat down to dinner, enjoying a well-stocked taco bar and, for dessert, a three-tiered strawberry cake with white buttercream icing and strawberry shortcake cups. Then the fun began.

Kicking off the night, the complete bridal party performed a choreographed dance to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love.” The Messners enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife to “A Life Where We Work Out” by Flatland Cavalry as well as dances with the mother of the groom and the father of the bride.

The night ended as the sky was lit up in a spectacular fireworks display. The young couple are now enjoying married life in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Levi is an accountant and Bre is pursuing a master’s in social work.
