Hannah and Noah grew up together in Oak Hill, but it took a while for them to see each other as more than friends. They finally did, and a marriage proposal came in the middle of a pumpkin patch on a crisp October day.
They chose a nearby wedding venue—The Gaines Estate—as the setting for their spring wedding. Hannah was escorted down the aisle by her father and was given away by both parents at the altar. She wore a light ivory satin fit and flare gown with a V neckline and hand-sewn floral appliques. Her garden-mix bouquet included her favorite flowers, and her “something old” was a brooch that had belonged to her late grandmother. The bridesmaids were elegant in champagne wrap-style dresses with nude heels. Noah wore a bespoke navy blue suit and a paisley tie.
The pair exchanged vows and participated in a unity ceremony that included a personalized wine box engraved with their new shared last name and filled with a West Virginia–made wine purchased from Tamarack. They included letters to one another in the box and plan to open the box and share the wine on their fifth wedding anniversary. After the ceremony, the couple headed to the reception area for a celebration with family and friends.
There were first dances, photos, and a full spread of brisket, twice-baked potatoes, corn, and rolls. Hannah and Noah cut a plain white wedding cake covered in white buttercream icing and decorated with floral accents and a wooden cake topper. Guests were treated to fudge made by the bride’s grandmother as wedding favors. After the wedding, the couple honeymooned in Charleston, South Carolina. In their married life in Oak Hill, Hannah works as a cosmetologist at Faye and Co. Salon in Beckley and Noah works for the National Park Service.
