Kendra Amick and Devon Alt’s love story started on Law School Hill at West Virginia University. Four years and many law classes later, Devon planned a combined-family beach trip to North Topsail Beach, asking Kendra to be his wife in a romantic sunset proposal.

The wedding day dawned at Brookedale Farm with all the trappings of love, vintage aesthetics, and 250 friends and family members. They watched, enraptured, as Kendra floated down the aisle in a thrifted 1970s handmade wedding gown with lace trim and a cathedral train.

Her bridesmaids also donned thrifted dresses, and the men complemented the vintage theme with powder blue suits and peach bow ties. Kendra and Devon exchanged personal vows under a cloudless blue sky before sealing their union with a kiss as the crowd cheered.

After dancing back up the aisle to Kiss’ “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” the newlyweds invited guests to the reception, the space decked out with tulle bows, balloon hearts, and soft lighting. Guests found their seats on a seating chart made from Kendra and Devon’s favorite record albums.

After dances and a BBQ dinner, the couple cut into a stunning 1970s-inspired wedding cake, complete with multiple tiers, peach and blue accents, and even a working water fountain. Hits from the ’70s and ’80s took guests back in time as the night went on, and the dance floor was never empty.

All good things must come to an end, however, and in a celebration fitting the splendor of their nuptials and the recent holiday, the crowd enjoyed a fireworks show before the Alts jetted off to Maui for a week-long honeymoon—but not without one last private dance to “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young.

They have since returned to West Virginia to enjoy married life in South Charleston, where they are both attorneys.
