Winter Romance at Glade Creek Farm

Michaela and Trey met at the University of Charleston Pharmacy School and dated for about two years. Beside a Christmas tree filled with thousands of lights in historic Beaufort, South Carolina, Trey asked Michaela to look at something on his phone. It was a video documenting the entire proposal process: purchasing the ring, asking Michaela’s dad for her hand in marriage, telling his family that he planned to propose, and well wishes from family and friends.

Their wedding took place on a picturesque winter’s day in the chapel at Glade Creek Farm. The chapel was decorated with evergreens, baby’s breath, and lamb’s ear, and white lanterns lined the aisle.

Wedding favors of forest-green throws tied with ribbon held tags reading “To Have and To Hold, In Case You Get Cold.” The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father to Pachelbel’s “Canon” dressed in an ivory V-neck ball gown with a fully beaded illusion bodice.

Her six bridesmaids wore floor-length chiffon gowns in dusty rose and brown fur capes. The groom and groomsmen wore fitted blue suits with dusty rose ties. The couple recited both traditional and personal vows.

At the reception, the newlyweds’ first dance was to “Never Stop” by SafetySuit, and the bride surprised her mother with a special dance to “Mama’s Song” by Carrie Underwood.

Following a meal catered by Pasquale’s, guests enjoyed a two-tiered white cake with white buttercream frosting accented with edible pearls. The groom’s cake depicted a Jeep Rubicon climbing a mountain.

The bride and groom took pictures, both serious and silly, with all of their guests, and the maid of honor and best man proposed toasts that were very sentimental, bringing both tears and laughter to everyone. The couple honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and are now enjoying life together back in Charleston.
